The White House has blocked top health official Dr. Anthony Fauci from testifying next week to a congressional committee that is examining the administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We have been informed by an administration official that the White House has blocked Dr. Fauci from testifying”
House Appropriations Committee spokesman Evan Hollander said in an email
“Fauci, who is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been a prominent face in the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus as a lead scientist in the coronavirus task force,” continued the report. “He has walked a fine line in delivering scientific information to the public that at times has contradicted President Trump’s statements.
Anthony Stephen Fauci is an American physician and immunologist who has served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984. He is currently the top US health official dealing with the coronavirus pandemic in the United States.
